Former Pakistan captain and star batter Babar Azam has achieved another major milestone by surpassing 15,000 international runs, becoming the fifth-highest run-scorer for Pakistan across all formats.
The right-handed batsman reached the landmark during the third ODI against South Africa in Faisalabad, where he scored 27 runs.
Babar Azam has now accumulated 6,336 runs in 137 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at an impressive average of 53.24, including 19 centuries and 37 half-centuries.
In Test cricket, the top-order batter has also been highly consistent, amassing 4,336 runs in 61 matches at an average of 42.38, with 9 centuries and 50 fifties to his name.
In the shortest format, Babar remains one of the most prolific batters in the world, having scored 4,302 runs in 131 T20 Internationals at an average of 39.83, including 3 centuries and 37 half-centuries.
Among Pakistani players, Inzamam-ul-Haq leads the all-time list with 20,541 runs in 547 innings, followed by Younis Khan (17,790 runs in 491 innings), Mohammad Yousuf (17,134 runs in 426 innings), and Javed Miandad (16,213 runs in 407 innings).
It is worth noting that Pakistan defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the same match to clinch the ODI series 2–1. The hosts successfully chased the 144-run target in the 26th over at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, sealing a comfortable victory over the Proteas.
