Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the government has launched the E-Challan system to ensure strict compliance with traffic laws, emphasizing that the government is not afraid of anyone and that this initiative is already showing positive results in improving the city’s traffic situation.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Memon said that some political parties are criticizing the traffic challan policy, but violations of traffic laws cost lives. The purpose of the E-Challan system, he added, is to promote adherence to traffic regulations, not to target anyone.
He stated that the traffic laws were revised because the previous ones were not being effectively implemented. The new traffic regulations, according to him, have led to noticeable improvements.
“We will take decisions that are in the best interest of the public,” he said. “Our goal is for people to follow traffic laws so that not even a single rupee is lost unfairly.”
Memon further added that the E-Challan initiative has helped reduce road accidents, and those involved in the recent dumper incident have been arrested. He also mentioned that work on Karachi’s infrastructure development is progressing rapidly.
