The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding the conclusion of talks between delegations from Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, mediated by Türkiye and Qatar. The next round of talks will be held in Istanbul from November 6.
According to details, the negotiations between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban have concluded. In the Istanbul talks, Pakistan and the Afghan regime agreed to continue the ceasefire between the two countries.
According to the statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, meetings for the ceasefire between the representatives of Afghanistan, Türkiye, and Qatar were held from October 25 to 30 in the coastal city of Istanbul.
As per the statement, the parties agreed to maintain the ceasefire. They also agreed to establish a monitoring and verification mechanism for the maintenance of peace. A penalty will be imposed on any party violating the agreement.
Türkiye and Qatar appreciated the participation of both countries in the negotiations. The Turkish Foreign Ministry’s statement said that Türkiye and Qatar are committed to continuing cooperation for lasting peace and stability.
The rules for the implementation of the ceasefire will be determined in the next round of talks. According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the next phase of the negotiations will begin in Istanbul from November 6.
