The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, Kailash Vijayvargiya, has held the Australian women cricketers themselves responsible for the inappropriate act committed against them.
It should be remembered that two days ago, in the Indian city of Indore, an incident of sexual harassment took place involving two Australian women cricketers.
A man riding a motorcycle, while the two Australian women cricketers were going from their hotel to a cafeteria, touched one of them in an extremely inappropriate manner and fled. However, later the police took action and arrested the person involved in the incident.
Now, the Madhya Pradesh Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kailash Vijayvargiya, has instead held the players themselves responsible for the incident that occurred in Indore.
The state minister belonging to the BJP said that it was the fault of the Australian women cricketers to go out without informing anyone. They will learn a lesson from this incident and will be careful in the future.
The Indian minister further said that the incident of misbehavior with the Australian women cricketers is also a security failure.
On the other hand, the Congress has termed the statement of the state minister as reflective of the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya’s statement reflects a mindset that is disgusting and shameful to even describe.
Congress leader Arun Yadav further said that the entire country is ashamed of this incident.
