TIME magazine released a new, more flattering cover of U.S. President Donald Trump, following his public complaints about a previous, less-flattering one.
Earlier, on October 14, 2025, TIME released a cover featuring a photo of Trump taken from a low angle.
Trump criticized that cover on his social media platform, calling it “super bad” and “the worst of all time.”
He also complained that it made his hair disappear and gave him a “floating crown.” The cover story was about his role in the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.
The new, flattering cover released on October 23, 2025, depicts the new portrait, taken from an eye-level angle, and shows Trump seated in the Oval Office at the Resolute Desk, wearing his signature red tie.
The publication of the more favorable cover came just days after Trump’s critical social media posts about the previous one.
Some online commentators and news outlets, such as The Daily Beast, suggested the new photo’s composition was a hidden reference to a 1963 portrait of convicted Nazi war criminal Alfried Krupp.
Trump has a history of scrutinizing his media portrayals.
In 2017, it was reported that he had displayed fake TIME covers with his face on them at his golf clubs. He has also previously lashed out at photographers and other publications over images he deemed unflattering.
