Ali tareen’s recent spat with PCB became a meme

The spat between Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) went viral and became a meme after Tareen posted a sarcastic “apology” video on social media.

In the video, he dramatically tore up a legal notice he had received from the PCB.

For months, Tareen had been publicly criticizing the PCB and Pakistan Super League (PSL) management, describing their work as “mediocre” and accusing them of mismanaging the league.

His criticisms included pointing out declining TV ratings and stadium attendance during PSL X in 2025 and complaining about poor event management.

In response to his continuous public criticism, the PCB sent Tareen a legal notice. The notice threatened to cancel the Multan Sultans’ franchise agreement and blacklist Tareen from future involvement in the league unless he retracted his statements and issued a public apology.

Instead of complying, Tareen posted a video on social media this week that mocked the PCB. He sarcastically apologized for expecting competence from the PCB and tore the legal notice in half while holding it up to the camera. He concluded by saying, “So, I hope you like my apology video.”
