A shocking incident of mob brutality has surfaced from the Gawalmandi area of Rawalpindi, where nearly a dozen armed men reportedly stripped a man naked, chained him, and dragged him across the street in broad daylight.
Eyewitnesses and viral video footage show the victim being mercilessly beaten with sticks, metal pipes, and subjected to repeated punches and kicks. The man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, can be heard crying for help and pleading for mercy as bystanders watched in horror.
According to preliminary reports, the victim had earlier raised objections to the establishment of a scrap warehouse in the residential neighborhood, which allegedly triggered the violent retaliation.
Despite the graphic video circulating widely on social media and sparking public outrage, local police have yet to make any arrests.
However, Rawalpindi police officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators. Senior officers have reportedly directed the local station to expedite the investigation and apprehend those responsible.
The incident has raised serious concerns about law enforcement’s responsiveness and the growing trend of mob justice in urban centers. Rights activists have called for immediate action and protection for whistleblowers who speak out against illegal or disruptive activities in their communities.
