Two people were killed and two others injured in two separate firing incidents in Karachi. A case has also been registered for the double murder.
According to details, two people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a shop near Nagan Chowrangi. New Karachi police registered a case of the double murder on the complaint of Advocate Shamsuddin.
Police said the case was registered under murder charges and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. As per the FIR, two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle fired shots at the shop, killing religious scholar Shah Ahmed and shop employee Abu Bakar.
Meanwhile, two people were injured in a firing incident at Gabol Chowk in Gulshan-e-Maymar. Rescue sources said initial information suggested the incident occurred during a robbery attempt.
It is noteworthy that incidents of killings during robberies in Karachi, which had earlier seen a worrying surge, have now shown a decline, reportedly due to improved police performance.
