King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in collaboration with the Department of Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, and its implementing partner Peace and Development Organization, has formally launched a project under which 2,500 deserving families in Pakistan will receive livestock and training for economic empowerment.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Noor-ul-Amin, Additional Secretary, Department of Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement, while the distinguished guest Abdullah Al-Baqmi, Director, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Pakistan, participated specially. On this occasion, representatives from government institutions, UN agencies, partner organizations, and the media attended the event.
The project has been launched to strengthen the livelihoods of deserving families, improve food security, and promote self-reliance. Under this project, beneficiary families will be provided livestock, poultry, and practical training to help them increase their income.
With the cooperation of the Livestock Department, 1,000 families in Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir will be given two female goats, fodder (silage), and training in livestock care.
In Swat, Swabi, Haripur, and Mansehra, 1,000 families will receive 25 chickens, a complete poultry kit, and training in poultry care and income generation, provided through the Livestock Department.
In Charsadda, Mardan, and Nowshera, 500 families will receive cows, fodder (silage), and practical training that includes animal care and milk production.
