The film’s trailer and promotional material suggest the monument is not a symbol of love but rather a “symbol of atrocity and genocide.” It questions architectural elements and focuses on the 22 locked rooms in the basement, claiming they hide Hindu idols or artifacts that prove the structure’s temple origins.
The story unfolds as a legal battle between Rawal’s character (who defends himself) and an opposition lawyer (played by Zakir Hussain).
The film has generated significant controversy, with critics labeling it as “propaganda” and “historical revisionism.”
