A coaster carrying wedding guests crashed into a mountain after its brakes failed, resulting in the deaths of five women, including a young girl, and injuring 45 others in Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Rescue 1122, four ambulances and one rescue vehicle were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the alert. The bodies and most of the injured were shifted to the Trauma Centre in Haripur, while two critically injured individuals were moved to Abbottabad due to the severity of their condition.
This tragic incident follows a series of recent road accidents in the region.
On September 26, a deadly traffic accident occurred in Dera Ismail Khan, claiming 11 lives and injuring 3 others. According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, brake failure was also the cause of that crash.
Earlier, on September 9, in Mansehra, a jeep fell into a deep ravine, resulting in the deaths of two women and injuries to four others.
