Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Ashab Irfan have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Vancouver Men’s Open Squash Championship.
Both players claimed victories in the Round of 16 of the PSA World Series Copper Event.
Noor Zaman, the tournament’s third seed, defeated Owen Taylor of Wales in a 53-minute match with a scoreline of 3-1. His winning scores were: 11-9, 11-9, 12-14, 11-8.
Fourth seed Ashab Irfan overcame Matthew Lai of Hong Kong in a hard-fought 71-minute battle, winning 3-2. His match scores were: 11-4, 9-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-6.
It’s worth noting that the Vancouver Open, currently underway in Canada, carries a prize pool of $31,250.
Last month, the U23 World Champion Zaman claimed the squash NASH Cup 2025 title as he edged Egypt’s Moustafa Elsirty 3-0 in win the final held in London, Canada.
The Pakistani squash sensation was seeded fifth in the tournament.
