ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan warned of action against Pakistanis facilitating the stay of Afghan nationals as the relations between both countries worsened after the Afghan forces’ attack on Pakistan posts.
Millions of Afghans have been living in Pakistan for last 4 decades, with thousands of Afghans fleeing Afghanistan following Taliban takeover of Kabul in August 2021.
Pakistan has been urging the West and the US to expedite the process of relocation, but it faced a delay.
The recent border skirmishes have reportedly forced the Pakistani government to take stern action, including the deportation of Afghans and strict action against those giving jobs or accommodation on rent, including in hotels, to illegal foreigners.
Recent border attack claimed the lives of over 20 Pakistani soldiers, while Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes killed over 200 Afghan Taliban and Fitna-a-Khawarij.
