ISLAMABAD: Pakistani mountaineer Asad Ali Memon has achieved a historic milestone by successfully scaling the highest peaks on all seven continents, completing the prestigious Seven Summits Challenge.
Memon reached the summit of Puncak Jaya in Indonesia, marking the final climb in his journey to conquer the tallest mountains on each continent.
The 27-year-old began his remarkable expedition in 2019 by climbing Europe’s Mount Elbrus, followed by South America’s Aconcagua in 2020, Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro in 2021, North America’s Mount Denali in 2022, and Asia’s Mount Everest in 2023 — the world’s highest peak.
His latest achievement makes him one of the few Pakistanis to complete the Seven Summits, placing him among an elite group of international mountaineers.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s renowned climber Sirbaz Khan also recently made history by becoming the first Pakistani to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world — including Tibet’s 8,027-meter Shishapangma, scaled without supplemental oxygen.
Khan, who hails from Hunza Valley, began his mountaineering career in 2017 with the ascent of Nanga Parbat, known as the “Killer Mountain.”
He has since conquered several of the world’s most dangerous peaks, including K2, Lhotse, and Mount Everest, cementing his legacy as one of Pakistan’s greatest climbers.
