Yashvardhan Ahuja, son of veteran actor Govinda, is going to make a debut with filmmaker Sajid Khan, recent Indian media reports revealed.
Filmmaker Sajid Khan will also make his comeback after a ban that was hurled against him by the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) in 2018, after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment and misconduct.
However, the ban was lifted in 2019, and now he is slated to direct a romantic comedy that will serve as the debut film for Govinda’s son. The film is reportedly being produced by Zee Studios.
The film is rumored to be a remake of a successful South Indian movie. It is also reported that Krithi Shetty and Nitanshi Goel will be part of the cast, with Ahuja potentially paired opposite Nitanshi Goel.
While Khan is in discussions with Zee Studios, he has reportedly not yet officially agreed to direct the film.
Yashvardhan Ahuja has been preparing for his entry into films for several years, including studying filmmaking abroad and working as an assistant director.
He was also set to debut in a Hindi remake of the Telugu film ‘Baby,’ directed by Sai Rajesh.
However, that project is currently on hold due to Babil Khan’s exit from the film. Ahuja also has another project lined up with Phantom Studios.
He is the younger sibling of actress Tina Ahuja, who made her debut in the 2015 film Second Hand Husband.
He has trained as an assistant director under producer Sajid Nadiadwala on films such as Dishoom, Kick 2, and Tadap.
His mother, Sunita Ahuja, has stated that she advises him not to copy Govinda’s acting style and believes he will make his own mark in the industry.
Yashvardhan reportedly received advice from actor Ranbir Kapoor to study filmmaking abroad, an experience that helped him develop his own unique voice.
