Germany’s leading industrial and engineering company KSB Group has announced plans to establish a major manufacturing facility in Pakistan, marking what is set to become Germany’s largest direct investment in the country to date.
The announcement came during a meeting between a high-level KSB delegation and Federal Minister for Investment Board, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, in Islamabad. The two sides discussed bilateral economic cooperation, industrial partnerships, and new investment opportunities in Pakistan.
During the meeting, the German delegation said that KSB’s experience in Pakistan has been highly positive, and the company is now exploring further opportunities in the country’s industrial sector.
Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh welcomed the investment announcement, saying Pakistan, with its population of 250 million, represents a large and dynamic market with immense potential for foreign investors.
“Pakistan seeks to further strengthen its economic and trade relations with Germany,” the minister said, inviting KSB and other international firms to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) where companies enjoy a 10-year tax exemption.
He added that the Pakistan Stock Exchange has reached a historic milestone and that the business environment is rapidly improving due to pro-investment policies and growing economic stability.
“Investment in SEZs presents an excellent opportunity for KSB, as government policies and macroeconomic improvements have enhanced investor confidence,” Sheikh stated.
The German delegation appreciated the Pakistani government’s efforts to promote foreign investment and reaffirmed KSB’s commitment to establishing a long-term industrial partnership in the country.
Founded in 1871, KSB is one of the world’s leading industrial and engineering companies, specializing in the manufacturing of pumps, valves, valve systems, and fluid engineering solutions. The company operates in over 60 countries worldwide.
