After observing the number of spinners in the Pakistani squad, the South African Test team has decided to focus on playing spin, which could increase challenges for Pakistan in the upcoming Test series between the two teams.
According to details, before departing for Pakistan, the South African Test team held a short training camp in Pretoria, where they concentrated on improving their play against spin bowling.
Ahead of the two-Test series against Pakistan, South Africa practiced specifically to prepare for spin conditions.
South African captain Aiden Markram said that when you are playing on home ground, you can prepare the kind of pitch you want, and he believes that things will be similar to the series against England.
He said that on such pitches, both teams’ batters face difficulties; however, they are satisfied with their squad and will focus on performing regardless of the conditions.
The South African captain added that they have three spinners, who pose a challenge, and their role will be very important for the team.
It should be noted that the South African Test squad players will arrive in Lahore tonight, and the first Test match of the series between the two teams will begin on October 12 in Lahore.
Pakistan has planned to trap the South African team in a web of spin during both Test matches, considering Abrar Ahmed, Sajid Khan, Nauman Ali, and Asif Afridi as key weapons for this strategy.
