Cyclone “Shakti” has moved closer and is now 360 kilometers away from Karachi, while due to the stormy situation, there is also a possibility of rain in the city, as reported by national media on Saturday.
According to details, the deep depression in the northeastern Arabian Sea has turned into a cyclone, which has been named “Shakti.” A report citing sources claimed that the name Shakti was proposed by Sri Lanka and it means power.
It has also been indicated that within the next 24 hours, Cyclone Shakti may intensify into a severe cyclone.
It is reported that wind speed at the center of the cyclone will be 75 kilometers per hour. Cyclone Shakti may remain in the Arabian Sea until October 6.
Cyclone Shakti is 360 kilometers south of Karachi. Due to the cyclone, rain may occur in Karachi as well as in various areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
Meanwhile, there will also be high tides in the sea during the cyclone, and fishermen have been advised not to go into deep waters until October 5.
