On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a grand operation is ongoing in the city under the leadership of DC Lahore, during which more than 600 encroachments have been demolished. The district administration and MCL squads have become active in markets across the city.
According to details, 625 encroachments have been removed from various areas of Lahore and goods have been confiscated. From the city’s roads, 2271 illegal banners and panaflexes have been taken down.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the operations are continuing to clear commercial centers and markets from encroachments. Officials have stated that encroachments will be eliminated completely.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore has said that encroachments will not be allowed to be re-established in any area. On the other hand, citizens have expressed mixed reactions regarding the removal of illegal encroachments.
Citizens, while appreciating Maryam Nawaz’s initiative, believe that with the demolition of more than 600 encroachments, roads in the city will be open and better space will be available for parking.
