A Lahore High Court Multan bench Thursday lifted the ban on the sale and purchase of Naswar.
High Court Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi announced the verdict in the Punjab Food Authority case. The court orders stated that there will be no ban on the manufacture, sale, and purchase of Naswar.
According to the details, the petition against the ban on Naswar under the Writ petition number 4177/18 was pending for seven years, as the Punjab Food Authority had labelled it harmful for health.
The court had issued a stay order on the notification seven years ago.
Petitioner Zeeshan Khan Khattak had filed the petition through Counsel Zulfiqar Ali Sidhu.
Punjab Food Authority expressed its willingness to withdraw the notification during the court hearing for lifting the ban.
Now again, the manufacture, sale, and purchase of Naswar has been made legal by the Court.
