A high-end vehicle stolen from the United Kingdom has reportedly surfaced in Karachi, according to developments that came to light on Thursday.
A letter from Interpol Manchester to the Sindh police revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Harrogate, UK, on November 22, 2022. Although the car’s tracker signal was initially lost in Leeds, it later reappeared on February 11, showing a location near Korangi Road, Azam Basti, and the Saddar area of Karachi.
UK authorities shared this intelligence and formally requested assistance from Pakistani law enforcement for the vehicle’s recovery.
Interpol confirmed that the car’s details are listed in the Stolen Motor Vehicle (SMV) database. Acting on this request, Karachi police have begun efforts to trace and recover the luxury car.
This incident is not without precedent. In 2022, customs officials raided a residence in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and seized a Bentley Mulsanne, which had been reported stolen from London. The vehicle had been illegally registered with the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department.
Foreign investigators had pinpointed the Bentley’s location and alerted Pakistani authorities. During the raid, customs officials detained two individuals from the DHA property and registered a First Information Report (FIR).
