The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for taxpayers to submit their income tax returns for the financial year 2024-2025 to October 15.
As per a press release issued on Tuesday, FBR has extended the deadline for filing of Income Tax Returns for the Tax Year 2025 till October 15, 2025.
This decision has been made under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. The extension in the deadline has been granted in response to requests made by various trade bodies, tax bar associations, and the general public, the release added.
A day earlier, FBR had announced that the deadline for filing income tax returns would not be extended beyond September 30. In a statement, the FBR had urged taxpayers to file their returns “accurately and honestly” by the due date, warning that those who failed to do so would face penalties and be categorised as late filers.
