Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment shakes up the Indian streaming content world with “Do You Wanna Partner”, an original comedy-drama series premiering on Prime Video.
The series features Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty in central roles, showcasing female entrepreneurship, friendship, and beer, all delivered with a dash of humor and pandemonium.
The show revolves around Shikha (Tamannaah Bhatia) and Anahita (Diana Penty), two close friends who are willing to break int the male-dominated liquor industry by starting their own craft beer venture. Shikha, after losing her job, sets out to fulfill her late father’s passion of making beer. Anahita, an astute marketing professional, abandons her own secure career to partner with her best friend.

But their path is hardly smooth. Being subject to extreme gender prejudice in the alcohol industry, the two come up with an ambitious idea, they hire an abysmally bad actor (played by Jaaved Jaaferi) to pretend to be their make-believe billionaire boss, David James, in an attempt to become believable. But the action gets out of hand as they are caught up with a brutal loan shark (Shweta Tiwari) and a whiskey baron (Neeraj Kabi) who had backstabbed Shikha’s father in the past.
Do You Wanna Partner, directed by Collin D’Cunha and Archit Kumar, marries belly-laugh humor with emotional moments, conveying the ups and downs of creating a startup in an age that still underrates women with ambitions.
The cast also includes Nakuul Mehta, Rannvijay Singha, Sufi Motiwala, and Indraneil Sengupta in key roles, bringing drama, competitiveness, and back-up to the series’ city-based, entrepreneurial terrain.
Is it worth watching?
With its new-age premise and A-list cast, Do You Wanna Partner has all the potential to appeal to viewers who love stories of hustle, humor, and women power, all served with a frothy, beer-themed broth.
The series is available for streaming exclusively on Prime Video.
