Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.
Chasing a modest target of 134 runs, Pakistan reached the finish line in the 18th over, thanks to fine batting performances from Mohammad Nawaz and Hussain Talat.
Nawaz played a brilliant knock of 38 runs, laced with three fours and three sixes, while Talat remained unbeaten on 32 runs.
Earlier, batting first at Abu Dhabi on Pakistan’s invitation, Sri Lanka posted 133/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
For Sri Lanka, Kamindu Mendis top-scored with 50 runs, while captain Charith Asalanka made 20, Kusal Perera and Wanindu Hasaranga added 15 each, Pathum Nissanka 8 and Dushmantha Chameera 1.
Both Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka departed without scoring. Chamika Karunaratne remained not out on 17 alongside Maheesh Theekshana on 0.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets, while Hussain Talat and Haris Rauf bagged two apiece and Abrar Ahmed claimed one.
