Islamabad: All hiking trails in the Margalla Hills National Park have been reopened after the recent spell of heavy monsoon rains subsided, bringing good news for outdoor enthusiasts.
The Islamabad administration had shut the trails on September 1 for an indefinite period as torrential rains lashed the federal capital. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said the closures were a precautionary measure to ensure public safety during continuous downpours.
With clearer skies and no significant rainfall forecast in the coming days — as confirmed by the Pakistan Meteorological Department — authorities have restored public access to all trails, allowing citizens to resume hiking and other outdoor activities.
The deputy commissioner advised hikers to remain vigilant, follow safety protocols and stay updated on weather conditions. Local residents have welcomed the move, saying the trails provide both recreation and a healthy activity for families and individuals.
