The anime film Demon Slayer Infinity Castle has made new history at the Indian box office, surpassing action hero Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4, which is being termed as a matter of shame for Bollywood.
According to details, under the direction of Haruo Sotozaki, Demon Slayer Infinity Castle performed excellently on its opening day, earning 13 crore rupees according to Sacnilk.

Infinity Castle had already shown signs of a strong start at the box office during its advance booking phase. While some estimates suggested that the film could earn more than 15 crore rupees on its first day, its current performance is by no means disappointing by any standard.

Indian media believes that this film is definitely performing better than any Indian film currently running in theaters. It posted better opening-day figures than Baaghi 4 (12 crore rupees), Param Sundari (7.25 crore rupees), and The Bengal Files (1.75 crore rupees), and even surpassed the recent release Mirai (12 crore rupees). Only The Conjuring Last Rites remained out of Infinity Castle’s reach, which earned 17.5 crore rupees on its opening day.
According to a recent Indian report, this film has definitely performed better than other anime films recently released in India. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ran in theaters for only 4 days and earned 4.85 crore rupees, while Suzume could not even reach the 1 crore rupee mark.
These two films were released in 2022 and 2023 respectively and did big business globally, but Infinity Castle has achieved success in a market that had been stagnant for a long time. There is no clear starting point for the growth of anime in the country, but during the lockdown, it did good business and built and nurtured a fan base out of nothing. Even James Gunn’s new and improved Superman could not post such numbers in the Indian market on its first day, earning only 7.25 crore rupees.
Why shameful for Bollywood?
Be it a Bollywood film or an anime film, it is the story that pulls the audience to cinemas. For a long time, Bollywood has been showing everything from action, fights, and killings, but no story is to be seen.
