Dubai police have issued a safety advisory ahead of the highly anticipated Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, Golf News reported on Saturday.
The city’s Events Security Committee (ESC) has called on fans to demonstrate good sportsmanship and adhere to stadium regulations, emphasizing that the behavior of spectators should uphold the UAE’s reputation for hosting premier international sporting events.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, assured the public that specialized police units are fully prepared to maintain security throughout all Asia Cup 2025 matches. He warned that any actions threatening safety or order would be met with strict enforcement and legal action to safeguard fans and facilities.
Al Mazrouei highlighted that, under the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events, individuals who breach rules face significant penalties. Unauthorized entry onto the pitch or possession of banned items such as fireworks could lead to imprisonment for one to three months and fines between Dh5,000 and Dh30,000. Violence, throwing objects, or using abusive or racist language may result in imprisonment and fines ranging from Dh10,000 to Dh30,000.
The ESC advised spectators to arrive at least three hours before the match, enter the stadium once per ticket, ensure their tickets are valid, comply with the list of prohibited items, and avoid parking that obstructs traffic. Items banned from the stadium include fireworks, flammable materials, lasers, umbrellas, large cameras, selfie sticks, sharp objects, toxic substances, flags, banners, pets, remote-controlled devices, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and glass items.
Al Mazrouei emphasized that these measures are essential to protect everyone attending the event, including players, officials, and fans.
