The White House has said that the U.S. government had informed Qatari officials today about the Israeli attack in Doha, however, Qatari officials have denied this.
In an official statement regarding the Israeli airstrike on Hamas’s office in Doha, the White House spokesperson said that this morning the U.S. military informed the Trump administration that Israel had targeted Hamas, unfortunately, the Israeli target was located in an area of Doha, the capital of Qatar.
She said that unilateral bombing on the soil of a sovereign country like Qatar, and a close ally of the U.S., neither fulfills Israel’s objectives nor America’s, however, the elimination of Hamas is an important objective.
According to the statement, President Trump immediately instructed his special envoy Steve Witkoff to inform Qatari officials about the possible attack, and Steve Witkoff conveyed the information to the Qatari officials.
According to the statement, President Trump also contacted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Netanyahu assured Trump that he wants peace as soon as possible. President Trump believes that this incident can also become an opportunity to pave the way for peace.
President Trump also spoke to the Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister and thanked them for their cooperation and friendship with the U.S. He assured that such an incident will not happen again on the soil of Qatar.
On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the news of receiving prior information about the Israeli attack.
Majed Al Ansari, the spokesperson of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, refuted the White House statement, saying that there is no truth in the news that Qatar had been given prior information about the attack.
Majed Al Ansari said that the phone call received from U.S. officials was during the explosions caused by the Israeli attack.
