A very high-level flood is expected today in the Indus River, as a result of which people are continuing to evacuate from nearby areas.
According to details, at Guddu Barrage on the Indus River, floodwater is arriving from Punjab, due to which the riverine areas of Kashmore are at risk.
At Kot Mithan, the water level has risen, after which a large number of people are moving from the riverine areas to safe places. The administration has once again appealed to residents to vacate their homes.
Meanwhile, in Kirthar, rains have caused streams and nullahs to overflow. Provincial Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro said that no embankments in Sindh will be breached. The government has prepared for a super flood, and arrangements are complete, although a population of 150,000 to 200,000 may be affected.
The Provincial Rain and Flood Emergency Monitoring Cell has released figures of inflow and outflow of water in rivers and barrages.
Water inflow was recorded at 425,000 cusecs and outflow at 416,763 cusecs at Guddu Barrage. At Sukkur Barrage, inflow was recorded at 352,000 cusecs and outflow at 329,310 cusecs.
At Kotri Barrage, inflow was recorded at 235,243 cusecs and outflow at 231,763 cusecs.
Meanwhile, at Panjnad Barrage, both inflow and outflow were recorded at 524,765 cusecs, while at Trimmu Barrage, both inflow and outflow were recorded at 531,993 cusecs.
