On Hazara Motorway near Shah Maqsood Interchange, while heading towards Rawalpindi, a collision occurred between a trailer and a Corolla car, resulting in the death of 5 people of the same family.
According to the spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Haripur, as a result of the accident, 39-year-old Raza Saleem, a resident of Gilgit, along with three men and two women of the same family, died on the spot.
The medical team of Rescue 1122 Haripur transferred the body of the deceased to Type-D Hospital Havellian. Motorway Police also took part in the operation.
Initially, the cause of the accident could not be determined; however, further investigations are underway.
Officials believe that accidents on the motorway and other highways across the country often occur due to bad weather and overspeeding. Sometimes, negligence caused by drivers falling asleep at night also results in fatal accidents.
