Two suspects who brutally murdered two brothers over a dispute of just Rs30 were killed in an alleged police encounter in Raiwind area of Lahore.
According to media reports citing sources in the Punjab Police’s Crime Control Department (CCD), a CCD Chuhang team had taken the arrested suspects to Raiwind for a raid on their indication when their accomplices attempted to free them.
Report said that an accomplice, Tauqeer, along with others, attacked the police. During the exchange of fire, the detained suspects Owais and Shehzad were killed, while Tauqeer managed to escape with his associates. The manhunt is currently underway.
Police confirmed that the deceased suspects had recently beaten two brothers to death over a dispute involving Rs 30.
It should be noted that in Lahore, during the purchase of fruit, an argument over just Rs 30 turned violent. One brother died at the scene, while the other was severely injured and slipped into a coma. Police had registered a case of the incident.
The following day, the second brother, who had been brutally attacked by fruit vendors in Raiwind, also succumbed to his injuries.
A viral video on social media showed Wajid and Rashid lying in pools of blood as the attackers struck them openly with sticks, while bystanders watched without intervening.
Just a day earlier, a Lahore police special team, led by Raiwind SHO Muhammad Zaka, had announced the arrest of suspect Shehzad. Police claimed the arrest was made using modern technology and available resources.
