The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on Thursday that all flights originally scheduled from Sialkot International Airport have been diverted to Lahore Airport following the closure of operations in Sialkot.
According to the airline, flights between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. will now depart and arrive from Lahore. Passengers have been advised to remain in contact with the PIA call center at 111-786-786 for the latest updates regarding schedules and adjustments.
Among the affected services now operating through Lahore are PK 746 (Jeddah–Sialkot), PK 745 (Sialkot–Jeddah), PK 239 (Sialkot–Kuwait), and PK 244 (Dammam–Sialkot).
A rescue department spokesperson confirmed that floodwater was advancing towards Sialkot Airport from the southern side. In response, the airport administration has deployed manpower and machinery to ensure timely drainage and prevent damage to infrastructure.

Pakistan continues to grapple with heavy monsoon rains that have displaced more than 167,000 people across Punjab, including around 40,000 who evacuated voluntarily after flood alerts issued since August 14.
On Wednesday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned of further torrential downpours over the next 48 hours due to strong monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
