Jhelum police have taken prominent religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza into custody under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
Officials confirmed that the arrest was made on the orders of the Jhelum deputy commissioner, after which Mirza was shifted to jail. The move was described as an administrative step aimed at maintaining law and order.
In addition, authorities sealed Mirza’s academy, locking the premises to stop any gatherings or related activities. The action is part of increased oversight of religious institutions within the district.
