LAHORE: Renowned fashion designer Maria B has denied receiving any summon or official notice from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) or any other authority in connection with the ongoing LGBTQ controversy.
Taking to Instagram, Maria B shared a video statement in which she clarified that she had remained silent when the rumor surfaced a day earlier because she had not received “any kind of summon.”
She added that she would present her stance if and when she is officially contacted by the authorities.
In her caption, she wrote:
“NO YOU CAN’T SCARE ME… I WILL ALWAYS SPEAK ABOUT ISLAM and defend the Islamic Family system Insha’Allah.”
Addressing the reports, Maria B dismissed the circulating notice as possibly fabricated. “I haven’t received any official communication, and it’s concerning that the contents of an alleged government letter are being shared on social media before reaching me. I will respond appropriately once I receive something officially,” she said.
The designer further stressed her determination to continue speaking out against what she described as activities undermining family values and Islamic principles. “As guided by our faith, I will remain steadfast in protecting the future of our children by opposing such evil, no matter the challenges I face,” she added.
The clarification came a day after rumors spread on social media claiming that the NCCIA had summoned Maria B following a complaint regarding videos of an alleged immoral gathering involving members of the transgender community.
