In China, a delivery boy saved the life of a woman who had been trapped in a room in her home for 30 hours after seeing emergency numbers written in blood on a pillow during a food delivery.
This incident occurred in the city of Leshan, Sichuan province, China. Delivery boy Zeng went to deliver food when he saw emergency service numbers written in blood on a pillow. The pillow was on the road near a residential building, with the numbers 110 and 625 written on it.
The young delivery boy, who was studying at university, realized that someone’s life might be in danger and immediately contacted the police. The police sought help from an employee working at a nearby hotel, who recognized the design of the pillow and then located the woman trapped on the 25th floor of a building.
At first, the police thought it was a case of violent crime or kidnapping. But after entering the flat, it was discovered that the woman, Zhao, had accidentally been trapped in her bedroom for the past 30 hours.
The woman explained that she was cleaning her home when a strong wind caused the bedroom door to close and the lock to break, trapping her inside. Her mobile phone was in another room of the flat, making it impossible to call for help.
She remained trapped in the room for 30 hours without food or water, and her attempts to attract the attention of neighbors by making noise also failed. Lack of access to food, water, and the toilet caused the woman severe mental distress and fear.
The distressed woman then bit her finger and wrote the emergency service numbers on the pillow with her blood and threw it outside. According to the woman, when the police broke the door, she was overjoyed that she would finally be able to see her family again.
The woman expressed her gratitude and tried to give Zeng 1,000 yuan, but he refused to accept it. According to Zeng, “I didn’t do anything special; anyone in such a situation would contact the police.”
