Renowned and beloved Indian Punjabi film industry comedian Jaswinder Bhalla passed away on Friday at the age of 65, as reported by Indian media.
According to details, he had been undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital in Chandigarh for the past few days, where he breathed his last this morning. His last rites will be performed on Saturday at Balongi Cremation Ground in Mohali.
Jaswinder Bhalla began his artistic career in the 1980s and 1990s with stage plays and comedy albums. His spontaneous humor and unique dialogues became immensely popular among audiences. He entered films with Dulla Bhatti and Jaspal Bhatti’s satirical Hindi film Mahaul Theek Hai (1999).

Over time, he won the hearts of viewers with his comedy in numerous Punjabi blockbusters, including Jatt and Juliet, Sardaar Ji, and especially the Carry On Jatta series. His role as Advocate Dhillon in the series remains fresh in fans’ memories to this day.
Jaswinder Bhalla is considered one of the great pillars of Punjabi comedy because of his memorable one-liners, spontaneous dialogues, and impeccable timing. His ability to make even small roles unforgettable gave him a special place in Punjabi cinema.
He is survived by his wife Parmdeep Kaur, a fine arts teacher in Chandigarh, and his son Pukhraj Bhalla, who is also an actor. Pukhraj began his career in music videos before moving into films. Father and son appeared together in the 2013 film Stupid 7.
