The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced the results of the 2025 annual Class 9 examinations, in which over 63,000 girls participated compared to over 62,000 boys, with the overall pass percentage recorded at more than 42%.
According to details, Chairman Adnan Khan, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, and Secretary Professor Amjad Iqbal Khattak jointly released the results.
Out of a total of 128,453 registered candidates, 125,989 appeared in the exams. Overall, 53,657 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 42.06%. Meanwhile, 72,312 students failed, 2,055 remained absent, and 409 admission forms were canceled due to various reasons. The results have been uploaded online, while private candidates are receiving their results by post. All students have been promoted to Class 10, but those who failed in certain subjects will have to reappear in supplementary exams.
According to the results, the number of female candidates (63,357) was higher than male candidates (62,332), indicating the growing participation and interest of female students in education.
Addressing the ceremony, BISE Chairman Adnan Khan said, “I heartily congratulate the Controller of Examinations, Board Secretary, all officers, and staff for their tireless efforts, honesty, and professional dedication.”
The Chairman said that the board’s performance has not only ensured transparency but also set an example for other boards. He further added, “I will strive to ensure that the Rawalpindi Board continues its tradition of excellence and achieves further progress in future examinations.”
The Chairman also said that the board’s reputation and prestige are the result of collective efforts, and that everyone must work with full commitment and action to take the institution to greater heights. Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, Board Secretary Professor Amjad Iqbal Khattak, and other senior board officials attended the ceremony.
