Since the rainfall in Karachi on Tuesday, several areas are still without electricity. Due to load shedding, citizens are finding it difficult to cope with the heat and suffocating weather.
According to details, in Karachi’s Saddar area, Ratan Talaw, Urdu Bazaar, and surrounding neighborhoods have been without electricity since Tuesday.
In addition, Malir Alamgir Society, Kashmir Colony Sector B, Jail Road, Jamshed Road, Muslim Housing Society Scheme 38, Gulistan-e-Johar Block 8, Johar Block 2, Block 3A, North Nazimabad Block G, F, Umar Colony, Darvesh Colony, PECHS Block 7, Merchant Navy Society Scheme 33 Sector 15A, Liaquatabad C-1 area, and several other areas are affected by load shedding.
In Gulistan-e-Johar Block 8, electricity has also been suspended for 2 days, causing residents severe distress due to water shortage. Residents say that electricity was restored for a few moments at 5 AM but then went off again. Despite multiple complaints, the faults are not being repaired.
Meanwhile, K-Electric’s Chief Executive, Monis Alvi, claimed that by 6 PM on Wednesday, electricity supply had been restored to more than 94 percent of the city.
