Playing for Oval Invincibles against Birmingham Phoenix, the Afghan star smashed former New Zealand pacer Tim Southee for a breathtaking six. Anticipating a fuller delivery on his pads, Rashid shuffled across the stumps early and flicked the ball nonchalantly over deep square leg for a flat, powerful maximum.
The Hundred’s official social media accounts shared the video, sparking reactions from fans. “Unbelievable shot,” wrote one, while another called it “outrageous.” Rashid scored 16 runs off 9 balls, hitting two sixes, and helped Oval Invincibles post 180 for 8 in their 100 balls. Despite his effort, Birmingham Phoenix went on to win the match by four wickets.

Recently, Rashid revealed that he made a mistake by returning to cricket just months after undergoing back surgery following the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. He admitted that, in a bid to perform well for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025, he overworked himself in training, which worsened his form. The result was his worst IPL season yet: nine wickets in 15 matches, an average of 57.11, and an economy rate of 9.34, conceding 33 sixes.
After taking a two-month break post-IPL, Rashid has returned looking sharper and more confident — both with the ball and the bat.
