Three wanted dacoits were killed in an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Faisalabad, the media reported on Thursday.
According to details, CCD officials — Siddique Cheema, Iram Shah, Umar Sarfaraz Warraich, and Ali Ikram — cordoned off Abbaspur Road and signaled 10 motorcycle-borne suspects to stop.
Instead of stopping, the suspects opened fire on the CCD personnel, prompting an exchange of fire. In the encounter, three dacoits were injured and later succumbed to their wounds at the hospital.
The deceased were identified as Akhtar, Wasim, and Fareed. CCD officials said the men were involved in several robberies and were known to kill victims who resisted. They also noted that the gang would commit crimes even in broad daylight.
The bodies were shifted to a mortuary, while a manhunt was launched to apprehend the remaining suspects.
