The Pakistani rupee extended its upward trend against the US dollar in the interbank market on Friday, appreciating by 0.03 percent.
The rupee stood at 282.47, marking a gain of Re0.09 from the previous session. On Thursday, it had settled at 282.56.
Meanwhile, the inflow of overseas workers’ remittances into Pakistan stood at $3.2 billion in July 2025.

According to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), remittances rose by 7.4 percent year-on-year compared to $3 billion recorded in the same month last year. However, on a month-on-month basis, remittances declined by 6 percent from $3.4 billion in June.
It should be noted that Pakistan relies heavily on foreign workers’ remittances to stabilize the country’s external account.
