Reaffirming its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, Pakistan has sent its 18th consignment of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
The aid was officially dispatched during a ceremony at Islamabad International Airport on Friday, presided over by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
The relief shipment, organized under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with relevant government agencies and humanitarian partners.
The consignment includes essential supplies such as dry ration packs, ready-to-eat meals, and urgently needed medicines.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NDMA, and the Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan attended the event, underscoring the strong diplomatic and humanitarian ties between the two nations.
According to official figures, since October 2023, Pakistan has delivered a total of 1,815 tons of relief goods to Gaza, with the aim of easing the hardship faced by civilians — particularly women and children — amid the ongoing conflict.
In a statement, the Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s consistent position on the Palestinian issue, calling for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, and contiguous Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
