The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai on August 9.
A notification of the holiday has also been issued, which states that there will be a public holiday across Sindh on August 9 on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
According to the notification, the heads of educational institutions have also been directed to celebrate “Latif Day” in colleges on August 8.
Shah Latif Day is celebrated in Sindh, Pakistan, on the 14th of Safar (Islamic calendar) to commemorate the Urs (death anniversary) of the revered Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. This year, it falls on August 9. The day is dedicated to honoring his life, works, and teachings, which emphasize love, tolerance, and unity.
