Police Special Branch foiled an attempt to transport 100 maunds of dead chicken meat from Depalpur to Lahore.
According to details, Depalpur Police special branch intercepted a loader rickshaw at a crossing on Head Sulemanki Road in Depalpur and recovered 100 maunds of meat of dead chicken, which was loaded in the rickshaw.
All the accused escaped from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness, leaving behind their vehicle.
Soon after receiving the report, special branch personnel, along with police and personnel from the Livestock Department, also reached the spot.
Later, the police sent the rickshaw to Haveli Lakha Police Station. The accused were trying to supply this meat to Lahore and its adjacent areas.
District Police Officer Okara Rashid said that exemplary punishment will be awarded to the accused who committed this heinous crime.
A few days ago, donkey meat was seized by the authorities in the Tarnol area of Islamabad.
