The case regarding the discovery of a woman’s body in a drum near Malir River has been registered at the Sharafi Goth police station. Due to the woman’s identity remaining unknown, no significant progress has been made in the investigation.
According to details, the case was filed by the state under murder charges. Authorities believe that the woman’s body has not been identified even after two days because it is badly decomposed.
The FIR states that the body appears to be approximately 10 to 12 days old. Because of the advanced state of decomposition, fingerprints could not be obtained.
The SSP Malir said that other police stations have been instructed to immediately share any missing person reports related to women. One family was contacted, but the woman could not be identified.
He added that the investigation is being carried out from various angles, and any developments will be shared accordingly.
It should be noted that on July 12, a woman’s burnt and tortured body, with hands and feet tied, was found inside a plastic drum by the roadside near Malir River in Sharafi Goth. Her face was also burned.
Police suspect that unknown perpetrators transported the body in the drum to the location using a rickshaw or Suzuki pickup and fled after dumping it.
