Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday witnessed a volatile session; however, the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed higher by 33.05 points to 133,403.19 points against 133,370.14 points in the previous session.
The market opened in the green and continued a bullish trend; however, later selling pressure emerged and the stock market fell in red. After a while, the bulls again returned, and at one point the market also crossed the 134,000 point limit to reach an all-time high of 134,200.27 points. During the entire session, a volatile trend prevailed.
A total of 323,030,548 shares were traded during the day as compared to 919,907,440 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 23,176 billion against Rs 45.311 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 479 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 216 of them recorded gains and 231 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 32 companies remained unchanged.
Buying and selling were observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, commercial banks, cement, OMCs, and power generation. Index-heavy stocks, including HUBCO, SSSGC, and SNGPL traded in the green.
