Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially launched Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme to provide interest-free loans to low-income citizens for building their own homes.
The launch ceremony, held at the Chief Minister’s House, featured CM Gandapur as the chief guest. Key provincial cabinet members—including Meena Khan Afridi, Muzzammil Aslam, Dr. Amjad, and Rangaiz Ahmad—alongside Housing Department officials, attended the event. Successful applicants were awarded loan cheques by the Chief Minister himself.
The government has earmarked Rs4 billion for the scheme. To maintain transparency, beneficiaries will be chosen through a computerized ballot system.
Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 65 years old and earn less than Rs150,000 per month. They may receive interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million, payable in convenient installments.
Speaking at the event, the chief minister described the Ehsaas Apna Ghar scheme as a flagship, pro-poor initiative of the provincial government and a step towards realizing PTI founder Imran Khan’s vision of affordable housing for the underprivileged.
