Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has achieved a substantial increase in oil and gas production following the successful installation of an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) at the Rajian-05 well in Punjab.
This development was shared by the company in a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday.
The notice said that OGDCL successfully completed the installation of the ESP at Rajian-05, which has resulted in a marked improvement in production.
According to the company, following the ESP installation, daily production has reached 3,100 barrels of oil and 1 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
The notice further mentioned that prior to this installation, the well was producing 820 barrels of oil and 0.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
The Rajian oil field, located in Chakwal district of Punjab and falling under the Gujar Khan exploration license, is wholly owned and operated by OGDCL.
Discovered in August 1994, this field remains a key asset in the company’s portfolio.
“Two wells in Rajian have already been completed with ESPs, and the recent success at Rajian-05 further reinforces OGDCL’s efforts to enhance the value of existing fields through data-driven redevelopment planning.”
According to the notice, this development highlights the company’s ongoing focus on the effective utilization of domestic energy resources for long-term sustainability and national energy security.
