The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to register all cemeteries across the city, setting the price for a grave space at Rs14,300 across the city.
Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, said that while there are currently over 200 cemeteries in Karachi, only 38 are registered with the KMC.
He announced that the KMC has now decided to register all cemeteries in the city.
The mayor further directed that all cemetery in-charges must immediately complete the registration process, and the administration must not charge more than Rs. 14,300 for a grave.
KMC also made it clear that strict enforcement of these regulations would take place, and any instance of overcharging would lead to stern action.
