The Supreme Court has ordered to reduce the duration of the LLB program from 5 years to 4 years.
This decision came during a hearing on legal education reforms by a five-member constitutional bench led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan.
The court ordered to reduce the duration of the LLB program from 5 years to 4 years and also directed to abolish the C-Law test for those studying law abroad.
During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that necessary steps should be taken to improve the quality of law colleges.
The constitutional bench remarked that if there is any deficiency in SM Law College, it should be removed, instead of closing the college itself, SM Law College predates the formation of Pakistan.
The move, according to legal experts, will help foreign graduates while making the law education in the country more accessible.
The Supreme Court adjourned further hearing of the case indefinitely.
